Pretty sure I've read them all now. I did try to read them in order. I like her (their) work. There's a plot, of course they fall in love. I mean it is romance after all. The phrases seem accurate and authentic for the time period. It is best to read them in order. I love the lineage of the families they bring into their work. There's some sex, not much. If I remember correctly they could be easily skipped if that is offensive to the reader. Most of their writing focuses on things other than sex. I like the way they paint the attire of the people so the characters feel real. They aren't always in their finest clothing and the use of their descriptives helps to set an image of simple dress when that would be normal. I think their books all focus on the interpersonal relationships within the family and sometimes the breakdowns within the families. I suggest reading all of the May McGoldrick books!Product details

The Beauty of the Mist Macpherson Series MacPherson Clan series Book 3 edition by May McGoldrick Jan Coffey Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was another good book in the McPherson saga . I do like reading about people en I feel comfortable with? I hope there will be more coming .
Enjoyed the book with various surprises and twists. It was a good story as a stand alone book even though it is part of a series. It is not necessary to ready the other books to totally enjoy this story. Steady to fast paced and never boring. Well done. Held my interest and hated to put it down.
Good read. Love the characters. The series is nice bc it ties many different family members in from other books in the series. It makes you feel like you know the character. The two main characters have nicknames, Jack Heart and Queen of Hearts for good reasons. Read and find out why.
The one thing with this book in the series is that it had several editing issues and that is distracting but overall a very good book.
The rating is indicative of the quality of the writing as well as the wonderful story itself. These historical characters are well developed, & the heroes & heroines become well loved. Thank you for another beautiful novel of love, honor, & devotion to do the right thing.
This is another hit! This is another beautiful story interwoven with elements of reality and fantasy. Maria's character undergoes a huge transformation in the story. She goes from a quiet, malleable person to one who takes charge and makes her own decisions. The love story between Maria and John is passionate and sweet at the same time. Cannot get enough of the MacPherson family!
I enjoyed this book very much, in fact I think it one of my favorite thus far. Maria begins the story as a victim more than not. She has lived a life that her destiny was planned before she was even born, and she has made an ill planned attempt to at least prolong the inevitable future that is hers. She never comes across as the physically strong and robust young female as some of the other heroines in McGoldrick's books do, but none the less her mindset, determination and spirit grow impressively, and when this happens she has more than enough intelligence and moxy to match wits and out smart the villains in this story. In previous books McGoldrick has successfully had young children play supporting roles to her heroes and heroines, but in this one she had an older, matchmaking Castilian aunt named Isobel meddling in Maria and John's affairs just enough that you never quite know if she is for them or against them. I wouldn't mind seeing Isobel's character pop in future stories, doling out her wit and humor to next generation in the matters of heart and zest for life, and maybe even finding a love of her own. Yes, I liked Isobel very much. Of all the McPherson brother stories, I think this one has thus far been my favorite.
I loved this book and Flame so much, its hard to pick a favorite. These characters grabbed me from the beginning. Many times I asked myself how this author can come up with such unique storylines.
I can't begin to describe all that happens in this book. The beginning is amazing and never lets u go until the very end.
You have passionate lovemaking, suspense, twists, heart thumping danger that u can't wait for the ending to see how it all is resolved! We do get a HEA, but my only complaint is I wanted/needed a longer epilogue. All the stories in the series end nicely with no cliffhanger.
I already read Flame and will be leaving a review. It is a must read too. (Ljb)
